Survivors include his wife Deloris (McDonough) Zell of Shelby; daughters, Lucille (Larry) Smith of Shelby, Helen (Steve) Leck of Galata and Colette (Duane) Zimmerman of Wolf Point; son, Hank (Wanda) Zell of Shelby; brother, Raymond Zell of Shelby; 10 grandchildren & 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews. Step-daughter, Pam (Tom) Bogan of Cheyenne, WY; step-sons, Dennis McDonough of Jackson, Michigan, Michael (Patty) McDonough of Cut Bank and Pat (Jeanne) McDonough of Shelby; 12 step grandchildren, 8 step great-grandchildren and one step great, great-granddaughter. He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Betty; son, Larry; sisters, Anneta (Meech) McDowell and Alta Schiess; brothers, Russell, Wilbur, Rubin, Benji and one great-granddaughter He was born June 21, 1918 on the family farm to Henry & Celia (Alinder) Zell where he grew up and attended Shelby schools. He married Betty McDermott in 1941, and after 49 years of marriage she passed away in 1990. He then married Deloris McDonough in 1995. Family & Farming was the main things in Rawlins life. He was a farmer up to the day he died. He enjoyed Montana history, riding horses in the Sweet Grass Hills, fishing, traveling, hunting and dancing. Rawlin was also very musically inclined and played guitar, clarinet, sax, piccolo and yodeled. Memorials are suggested to the Tree of Life at the Marias Medical Center. |
