Dale Virgil Omsberg, 82, of Cut Bank, a long time manager for Oil Field Lumber, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2007, at the Northern Rockies Medical Center due to natural causes. Visitation is Thursday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Cut Bank. Graveside services with military honors are 11:00 am Friday, February 16, at the Crown Hill Cemetery . Survivors include wife of 58 years, Patricia Omsberg of Cut Bank; sons, Dale Patrick Omsberg and Darryl Duane Omsberg both Cut Bank, and Donald Ray Omsberg of Seattle; sisters, Bernice McGlochlin and Edith Gorman both of Cut Bank; brothers, Richard of Texas, Clifford, Herb, John, Kenny and Arnold Omsberg all of Cut Bank; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, May Luchi; and a brother, Walt Omsberg. 

Dale was born October 16, 1924 at Cut Bank to Christian John & Caroline (Olson) Omsberg and grew up on the family farm north of town. He attended Meadow Brook country school and graduated from Cut Bank High School in 1941 and then serving with the US Army during WW2.

Dale worked for Getter trucking for a time. He then managed Oil Field Lumber for 48 years retiring in 1988.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church , the Elk’s and the Moose. He had also served on the Cut Bank School Board for a time. Dale enjoyed hunting and fishing and his dog Fluffy.
