Survivors include her children, Sue (Clayton) Briden of Great Falls, Jerry (Wilma) Norsby of Toston, Joanne (Brent) Gaylord of Valier, Ellen “Sukey” Miller, and Sally (Andy) Hansen of Harrison; 15 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Severt in 1980; son, Jim Norsby; grandson Robbie Welker and brothers Bill and Elmer Parr. Alice was born Sept. 9, 1916 in Mondovi, Wisc. She married Severt Norsby on Sept. 9, 1939 in Kalispell. They farmed on Frances Heights near Valier until 1945 when they sold the farm and moved to Valier. In 1948, they built and operated Lake Frances Cabins, now known as the Lighthouse near Valier. With Severt’s failing health, they traded Lake Frances Cabins in 1951 for a farm on Birch Creek, west of Valier. They bought another farm and moved to Polson in 1953 to be closer to medical attention for Severt. In 1958, the family returned to the farm on Birch Creek. They remained there until the fall of 1963, when they rented the farm out and moved back to Valier. Alice entered the Pondera Extended Care facility in 2002. The family suggests memorials to the Pondera Medical Center Extended Care Facility, P.O. Box 758, Conrad, MT 59425. |
