Kenneth
John Nielson, 50, a long haul truck driver from Shelby , died Friday as
the result of a motorcycle accident near Summit . Funeral services will be
11:00 am Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at the Shelby Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter Day Saints. Burial with military honors will follow in the Mountain
View Cemetery . Visitation is Tuesday from 1:00 to 8:00 pm at the Whitted
Funeral Chapel.
Survivors include his mother Marilyn (Russ) Hunt Sheldon of Shelby; father, John W. Nielson of Eugene, OR; daughters, Angela (Randon) Smith of Shelby and Bandy (Brandon) Swanson of Whitefish; twin sister, Mary (John) Clark of Billings; sister, Teresa (Vince) Sheldon of Bothell, WA; step-sisters, Amber (Denny) Bohman, Dorothy Seifert and Hazel (Boots) Fransen all of Shelby; half-brothers, Eric, Derek, Hans & Chris Nielson all of Oregon; step-brothers, Aaron Sheldon of Shelby and Jack Hunt of Missoula; uncle, David (Jane) Pedersen of Shelby, grandchildren, Kendra, Savannah, Sammy, Emma, Nolen and Annie.
He is preceded in death by his step-father, Ray Hunt; step-brothers, Bob & Vern Hunt; grandmother, Anna Nielson and grandparents, Vera & Kristen Pedersen.
He was born March 26, 1957 at Kalispell to John & Marilyn Nielsen. He grew up in Shelby where he graduated from high school in 1975. He served over four years in the US Navy and later with the Montana National Guard. He married Beverley Renee Humphrey in 1984; they later divorced.
Kenneth had been a long haul truck driver for many years. He also worked on ranches where he was handy at breaking horses and working with all livestock.
He enjoyed working with animals, doing leather work, playing the mandolin and music in general.
