Ann
Ross Nevin, 95, a long time Shelby resident,
passed away Saturday, January 12, 2007 at the Marias
Care Center due to natural causes. Visitation is
Tuesday, January 15, from 1:00 until 8:00 pm at the Whitted Funeral
Chapel in
Shelby . Funeral is
Wednesday, January 16, at 11:00 am at the St. Luke’s Lutheran Church
with burial in the Hillside Cemetery in Conrad.

Survivors include her daughter, Margaret ‘Susie’ (Eldred) Stratton of Shelby and a son, Charles (Barbara) Nevin of Florence; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Betty, and her brother and sister.
Ann was born February 7, 1912 at Lewistown to William & Jean (Dakers) Gowans. She attended schools there as well as the Grass Range area. She and Alex Nevin were married June 25, 1935 at Lewistown. They moved to Sunburst in 1943 before moving to Shelby in 1956, then to Conrad in 1968 and Ann moved back to Shelby in 1981.
Ann was a tireless volunteer who would walk daily to the hospital and care center to visit and help with residents. She was also very active at the Shelby Senior Center where she was named Senior of the Year both in 1989 & 1998. Ann also enjoyed playing bingo, playing the card game ‘31’, and watching the Seattle Seahawks on TV.
