Ivy
A (Ferry) Nelson, 98, passed away from natural causes at
Marias Medical Center in Shelby on October 20,
2006. Cremation has taken place and, at her request, there will be private
family graveside services only at a later date. Whitted Funeral Chapel is
in charge of arrangements.
Ivy was born on November 10, 1907 in Morrison , Illinois to George and Louise ( Ness ) Ferry. She moved with her family in 1911 to where they homesteaded north of Shelby . In 1926, she and Norman R Nelson were married. She enjoyed her piano, reading, dancing and watching musical productions on TV. Ivy lived for a while in Arizona enjoying winters of sunshine.
Survivors include her daughter, Glenda Negrones of Bremerton WA ; her son, Glen (Red) Nelson of Shelby; five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Ivy was preceded in death by her husband, Norman R Nelson; her parents, George and Louise Ferry; grandson, Dan Corbett; two brothers, George and Wayne Ferry; and two sisters, Ann Tinsdale and Lucille Brown.
