Robert ‘Dick’ R More, 59, a Certified Public Accountant, passed away suddenly at the Northern Rockies Medical Center in Cut Bank on August 11, 2005.  Visitation is scheduled from noon to 2:00 pm on Sunday, August, 14, at the Whitted Funeral Chapel in Cut Bank.  Funeral Mass will be Monday, August 15, at 2:00 pm at St Margaret Catholic Church.  Burial with military honors at Crown Hill Cemetery will follow the services.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.whittedfuneralchapel.com.  The family suggests memorials be directed to the Cut Bank Volunteer Fire Department, the Shriners or the Cut Bank Golf & Country Club.  Whitted Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Dick is survived by his wife, Marian, of Cut Bank; his six children. Cori More of Las Vegas, NV, Kim More of Kalispell, Shannon More (Colin) of Beaverton, OR, Robert More (Dana) in Bolivia, Michael More of Helena, and Chris More of Belgrade; three brothers, Tom, Jim and John; sister, Marilyn Kun, granddaughter, Lucy Wood, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Lowell and Helen More.

Dick was born in Havre, Montana on August 23, 1945 to Lowell and Helen (Schule) More.  He moved to Cut Bank at the age of 2.  His education began at St Margaret’s Elementary School and he graduated from Cut Bank High School in 1963.  He attended Carroll College graduating with a degree in accounting.  After a short time working for the Del Monte Corporation in San Francisco, Dick was inducted into the US Army.  He served from 1967 to 1969 with a tour of service overseas in Viet Nam where he was awarded a commendation.  After his service he returned to work in Great Falls as an accountant for Junkermier and Campenella.  He then partnered with Dick Peterson to form Peterson and More Accountants.

During this time he met, courted and married the love of his life Marian Anderson.  They were married in Havre on June 27, 1970 and lived 10 years in Great Falls.  They were blessed with the births of Cori, Kim, Shannon, and Robert before moving to Cut Bank in 1979 where Dick began his accounting practice in which he served the community of Cut Bank until his passing.  Marian gave birth to twin boys Michael and Chris to round out the family.

Dick was well known in Cut Bank And the surrounding area as a loving husband, father and friend.  He was active in many civic functions for the community and was a local businessman for the past twenty-six years.  Dick will best be remembered for his devotion to family, friends and his community.  Always eager to help, Dick volunteered countless hours for the betterment of the Cut Bank community.  He was an active member of the Elks, Masons, Shriners, Cut Bank Airport secretary, the Golf Board, and the St Margaret’s Church board.  Dick retired from the Cut Bank Volunteer Fire Department after 20 years of service.  He was a past member of the school board and countless civic committees.  He loved playing golf with friends and family and has passed that love on to his children.  When not golfing, Dick loved to cook.  He had a penchant for discovering and remodeling new recipes and an invitation for a meal at the More’s always promised good food and great company.  His family legacy includes Cori and Shannon who are teachers, Robert who is currently serving in the Peace Corps in Bolivia, Kim who is an attorney in Kalispell, Michael a recent graduate of Carroll College in sociology and employed by Helena Regional Airport and Chris who has been employed by Albertson’s for several years recently promoted to Belgrade.  Dick More leaves a rich legacy of service and companionship that will be forever missed by all whose lives he touched.
