William Semple McAlpine, 92,
a
long time farmer
and county commissioner from Cut Bank, passed
away on his birthday, Sunday, Sept. 18th,
at the Northern Rockies Medical Center due to
natural causes.
Funeral services
were held Monday (Sept. 26th) at 2:00
p.m. at the Assembly of God Church followed by
burial to follow in the Crown Hill Cemetery.

He is survived by
his wife of 64 years Audrey
McAlpine; daughter, Sandra (William)
McAlpine Manley and
son, Alan (Stephaine)
McAlpine all of Cut
Bank; sisters, Barbara Allison and Violet
Johnson both of Oregon; six grandchildren,
Shea
McAlpine Underwood,
Nisha (Kyle Swenson)
Manley, Scott McAlpine,
Nikole (Kip) Manly
Owens, Nathan (Denise Larson) Manley and Nick
Manley. Six great-grandchildren: Brook Lyn
Underwood, Cody Campbell,
Zoe Underwood, Jeremiah Manley Swenson,
Kassidee
McAlpine Owens, Ian
Larson and Xander
Manley also survive him. He is preceded in
death by a son Billy
McAlpine; daughter, Beverly Ann
McAlpine and a
sister, Inez Walker.
He was born Sept.
18, 1913 at Pullman, WA, to William & Fern (Hemler)
McAlpine and grew up
in eastern Washington and north central
Montana. He attended grade school in Sunburst.
He and Audrey B. Barrows were married Sept. 13,
1941, at Warner, Alberta.
He farmed for many
years before retiring in 1990. He also served as
Glacier County Commissioner and on the Board of
Directors of the 1st National Bank.
He was a member of the Assembly of God Church
and the Elk’s Lodge. He enjoyed farming,
fishing and gardening.
