Phyllis
A. Matz, 82 of Cut Bank, passed away Friday, February 26, 2010, at the
Cambridge Court in Great Falls due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease.
Visitation is Tuesday, March 2, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Whitted Funeral
Chapel in Cut Bank. Funeral services are 2:30 PM Wednesday, March 3, at the
First Presbyterian Church with burial to follow at the Crown Hill Cemetery. A
reception will follow at the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include her children, Mike G. (Joan) Matz of Billings, Kristina Michaels of Vancouver, WA., Alan (Carolyn) Matz of Cut Bank, Susan (Frank) McPhee of Port Angeles, WA., and Debbie (Pat) Howell of Grand Junction, CO; daughter-in-law, Denise Matz of Cut Bank; son-in-law, John R. Jones of Great Falls; sisters, Glenna Beattie of Pasadena, CA and Lucile B. Flick of Dutton; sister-in-law, Kathryn Burdick of Conrad; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren & 2 great-great-grandchildren;
Phyllis
was born April 7, 1927 at Conrad to Cecil & Martha (Bartsch) Burdick and raised
in Brady where she graduated from High School in 1945. She later graduated from
cosmetology school in Great Falls.
Phyllis was previously married to Harold L. Moon. From that union was born Marilyn, Kristina (Martha), & Susan. She married Mike J. Matz on July 15, 1966. With the marriage to Mike she added additional family members Mike, Alan, Randy & Debbie.
She was a member of the Eagles and Moose Lodges. She had previously lived at the Beehive in Cut Bank. Phyllis worked locally at Getter Trucking, JC Penny and spent many years as a home-maker. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, gardening. crafting, fishing and spending time with her family.
