Survivors include Gene’s wife of sixty years, Elda, of Conrad; sons, George Marble of Helena, Jerry Marble of Missoula and daughter Doreen (Jim) King of Conrad; grandchildren, Kenley and Calen King of Conrad, Cody Marble of Missoula and Blaine Marble of Great Falls; brothers, Joe Love of Great Falls and Merle Love of Lincoln and a daughter-in-law, Toni Ann Marble as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gene was born on March 28, 1928 to Frances and William Marble. He grew up on a ranch in Eden and attended the rural school. Gene was in the U.S. Army stationed in Trieste, Italy where he met Elda Gullich and they married on August 8, 1947 in Trieste , Italy . He remained in the Army for eight years then worked for Miracle Buick and Wright Chevrolet upon his return to the states. He then owned and operated Marble’s Repair Service for twenty five years along with serving the Conrad School Transportation Program for twenty three years. Gene retired in 1991 to be a full-time grandpa. Gene’s favorite times were spent at Echo Lake with his kids and all of their friends and then later on with his grandchildren. He loved to attend the activities that they were all involved in such as volleyball, baseball and basketball. A favorite pastime was ice fishing with his friends. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Frances and William; a sister, Shirley Pfeifle, brothers, Bill Marble, Robert Love, Lawrence Love and Carey Love. Memorials may be made to Peace Hospice of Pondera County. |
