Harold
C. Majerus, age 85, an oil field worker and Navy Veteran, passed
away Sunday at the Marias Care Center. A memorial service will be
held next June. Whitted Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his daughter, Della (Ron) Cramton of Edmonton, AB,
Dawn (Gerry) Swartzenberger of Idaha Falls, ID, Pam Hydle of
Seattle, WA and Dixie(Steve) Engman of Dutch Harbor, AK; sons; Jesse
Lynn Jones of Kevin and James Lyle Jones of Shelby; sisters, Dolores
Crust of Chimacum, WA, and Nancy Trovatten of Shelby; as well as 12
grandchildren & 14 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by
his parents, wife Marvel, son, Harold Dillon, sister, Leona Goodman,
and brothers, Dillon and Phillip.
Harold was born Oct. 16, 1920 at Wilmar, Minnesota to Charles &
Ida (Thompson) Majerus where he grew up and was All Star and All
Conference in football throughout high school. He entered the Navy
in 1940 and served on the USS South Dakota with the Pacific Fleet
and was discharged in 1945. Upon leaving the Navy he came to Shelby
and worked in the North Toole County Oil Fields and with the Peavey
Elevators at Devon and Galata. He married Marvel Marie Jacobsen Aug.
25, 1962 at Shelby. She died Dec. 31, 2002.
Harold was a member of the Catholic Church and enjoyed keeping
his yard beautiful, feeding the birds while keeping a constant vigil
to keep the cats away.
