Eva Leuchars, age 82, of Shelby, a long time cook and waitress in Great Falls, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2005 at the Marias Medical Center due to natural causes.

Graveside services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, March 30th at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Great Falls. Whitted Funeral Chapel of Shelby is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her sister, LaVoina Bortz of Sharon, PA and a brother, Gene Schilling of Shelby. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband George, a sister, Nellie Mauseth and brothers, Edwin Schilling, Bud Schilling and LeRoy Schilling.

She was born July 24, 1922 at Ashley, ND to Jacob & Katherine (Stepper) Schilling. She moved with her family to Terry, MT as a youth and then to Greenfield, MT where she attended school at Power. She worked as a cook-waitress for many years at Paul’s Drive-In in Great Falls, where she meet her husband. Eva married George Leuchars Oct. 20, 1952 at Helena. He died in 1985.

Over the years, the couple had lived in Denver and Billings. She moved to Shelby to be near her brother and his family in 1995.

Eva was a member of the Catholic Church and enjoyed chortching, knitting, doing crossword puzzles and watching her beloved Denver Bronco’s football team play.
