Leonard
(Lenny) Fredrick Knickerbocker, 62, a retired contractor of Shelby passed
away Jan. 16, 2010 at home surrounded by his family after a long struggle with
cancer.Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 1 until 5:30 p.m. at the Whitted Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Whitted Funeral Chapel with burial and military honors to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery. Survivors include his mother, Georgia Knickerbocker of Shelby; ex-wife, Linda Knickerbocker-Reynolds of Havre; daughter, Nichole Knickerbocker-Kemm of Whitefish; son, Chad Knickerbocker of Shelby; daughter, Brittany Knickerbocker-Wikel of Calgary, Alberta; brother, Denny Knickerbocker of Shelby; sisters, Laurie Elhard of Cut Bank and Pam Faulhaber of Shelby; aunt, Buddy Curtis of Shelby; four grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Chance Knickerbocker, and his father, Lew Knickerbocker of Shelby, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Lenny was born June 13, 1947 in Stanley, N.D., the youngest son of Lew and Georgia (Texel) Knickerbocker. He grew up and graduated from high school in Shelby in 1965. He served two years in the US Army in Vietnam and, upon his return, he married Linda Moss and started his family. Lenny worked around Montana and the northwest US building homes and contracting with his brother, Denny. |
