Mae Kovatch, age 71, of Valier, passed away
Monday, September 5, 2005 at a Missoula hospital due to natural causes.
Visitation will be 1-8 p.m., Thursday at the Valier Baptist Church. Her funeral
will be at 2 p.m., Friday at the church with burial to follow in Lakeview
Cemtery. Whitted Funeral Chapel is in charge of

She is survived by her children, Kenneth N. (Lorna) Kovatch of Ovando, Katherine K. Kovatch of Missoula, Karalee (Wayne) Slaght of Ovando and Kevin (Christy) Kovatch of Valier; a sister, Faye Marie Swanson (Dwain) of Valier; grandchildren, Kory Kovatch, Kalvin Kovatch, Kelli Evans, Grant Slaght, Ben Slaght, Nicole Slaght, Kolby Kovatch and Kelci Kovatch as well as great grandchildren, Kasen Kovatch, Kinley Kovatch, Klaire Kovatch, Klayton Kovatch and Brinkley Evans.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Harry.
Lois was born April 28, 1934 to Henry and Mary Alice (Conger) Henneman in Anaconda, MT. When she was in the first grade, the family moved to Valier where she graduated from high school.
She married Harry Kovatch on June 7, 1952 in Valier. They were lifelong residents of Valier where she was a dedicated homemaker along with serving as assistant city clerk for a number of years.
She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society.
She enjoyed photo/scrapbooking, playing pinochle with her friends but her greatest love was seen in the hearts of her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered as a very sweet mother, grandmother and sister who had a lot of love for her family, friends and community.
