Irene Lenore Kluth, 81, retired, died February 4, 2010, in Anchorage, AK. Memorial services will be held at Whitted Funeral Chapel in Shelby, MT on February 27, 2010 at 3pm. Interment will follow at the Valley View Cemetery. Irene was born on May 21, 1928 in Ethridge, MT to Sigurjon Helgi and Ella Sigurdson of Ethridge. She attended one-room grade schools at Ethridge and Oilmont and graduated from Shelby High School in 1945. She married William (Bill) Kluth on June 7, 1947 in Great Falls and they raised six children. Irene worked for many years at First State Bank and then owned and operated Alice’s Ceramic Shop and the Horizon Trailer Court before moving to Anchorage, AK in 1988 working as a bookkeeper. She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Survivors include her son, Stanley (Barb) of Anchorage, AK, daughter Sandra (Gary) of Pueblo West, CO, and son, Scott (Tammie) of Tacoma, WA; three granddaughters; five grandsons; two sisters, Ellen McDermott of Fairfield, MT and Patricia Hellinger of Shelby, MT; and one brother, Alan of Pahrump, NV. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Kluth; sons, Steven and Sidney; and daughter, Stacy Hargrove; brothers, Jim, Kenny, and Dick; and sister, Pauline. |
