Minnie
(Holen) Ketcham, 97, a longtime Kevin resident, died of
natural causes Tuesday at a Shelby care center.
Visitation is 1 to 8 p.m. today at Whitted Funeral Chapel.
Her funeral is 2 p.m. Friday at Community United Methodist
Church, with burial in Mountain View Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughter, Ellavon Snell; a son, Arlo
Ketcham; five grandchildren, Alan Snell, Arla Blount, Lana
Ahrens, Tedi Bishop and Bonnie Adams; 11 great-grandchildren;
and one great-great-grandchild.
Minnie was born Dec. 5, 1907, to Andrew and Gena Holen, in
Landa, N.D., where she was raised and graduated from high
school. On Feb. 17, 1928, she and Arthur Ketcham of Loraine,
N.D., were married. After spending a year in Loraine, the couple
moved to Kevin, Mont., and lived there for more than 40 years.
During the years in Kevin, Minnie worked for the Methodist
Church in Kevin and Sunburst, and the women's society. In 1994,
she was elected Senior Citizen of the Year. She was also a very
active member at the Senior Citizens Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Clara
Erickson, Olga Nickelson and Tilda Hjelmeland; and a brother,
Andrew Holen.
