Ramona
‘Mona K’ Katherine Mayer Irvin, age 68, a
homemaker from Shelby, passed away Thursday
at the Marias
Medical Center due to a lengthy illness. A
family gathering will be held at a later date.

Survivors include
her husband of 41 years, Dwayne Irvin of
Shelby; daughters, Paula Anderson of Shelby,
Margie (Ken) Foran
of Helena and Ellen (Lyle)
Bleecker of Shelby; sons, Mark (Shirley)
Furr of Shelby,
David (Jean) Irvin of Shelby, Joe (Pam) Irvin of
Conrad and Mark (Wendy) Irvin of Helena; and
daughter-in-law, Carol Irvin of Shelby. She is
also survived by sisters, Betty Jo
Strissel of Havre,
DP Stubbin of Havre
and Patricia Smith of South Carolina; brothers,
David Mayer, Mark Mayer and Patrick Mayer all of
Havre; as well as 22 grandchildren and 8
great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and
nephews. Also, close friend, Bea
Mascarenas, and the
many people whose lives she touched survive
Mona.
Her parents,
infant children, Tina Louise and
Gustaveous Terry and
a brother, Frank Mayer preceded Mona K in death.
Mona K was born
January 30, 1937 at Glasgow to Mark & Josephine
(Emily) Mayer. She was raised in Havre where she
graduated from Central High School in 1955. She
married Dwayne Irvin Sept. 19, 1964 in Conrad.
Along with being a homemaker she had worked as a
waitress at various places in Shelby.
She was a member
of the First Baptist Church and enjoyed ice
skating, playing softball, golf and bowling. Her
favorite sport stars were Michelle Kwan and
Tiger Woods.
The family
suggests memorial to the youth groups of the
First Baptist Church of Shelby or Glacier View
Baptist Church in Browning.
