James C. Hogue, age 74, of Sweet Grass, died Saturday, February 4, 2006, at Marias Medical Center in Shelby due to a massive stroke.  A memorial service is planned for early March at the Sweet Grass United Methodist Church.  Whitted Funeral Chapel of Shelby is in charge of arrangements.

Jim is survived by a sister, Mary Ellen Gillie of New Middletown, Ohio plus two nieces and two nephews as well as three great-nephews and two great-nieces. 

He was born November 22, 1931 to George and Mildred (Hanna) Hogue in New Castle, PA.  A graduate of North High School in Youngstown, Ohio, he moved to Montana in the late 1950's.  He was retired from W. Y. Moberly, Inc. Customs Broker and was previously employed at Larson’s Clothing Co. in Shelby. 

Jim was an active member of the Sweet Grass United Methodist Church, serving on the Parish Council for Shelby Oilfield Parish.  He was very active in the Kevin Senior Center and was also on the Board of the Crossroads Correctional Center.  Jim was a part of the Sweet Grass Bible Study group for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
