Dave L. Hofland, 59, an oil field pumper from Kevin, passed away Tuesday (Dec. 4th) at Peace Hospice in Great Falls due to cancer. At his requests no services are planned. Whitted Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Cori (Tory) Meldrum of Havre; son, Justin (Anne”Marie) Hofland of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters, Lois Brockleman of Alberta, Jeanne (Mel) Bartlett of Birdsview, WA; brothers, Jim Hofland of Kevin, Clarence Hofland of Great Falls, Larry (Pat) Hofland of Anacortes, WA and Dale Hofland of Mt. Vernon, WA; five grandchildren, Jacie, Jenna, Jayla, Ashley and Sierra.
He was born Feb. 7, 1948 at Conrad to James S. and Anna E. (Hilling) Hofland. He grew up in the Sunburst area where he graduated from high school in 1966. He served with the US Army for 3 years with one year in Viet Nam . He married Gloria Cook, they later divorced.
Dave worked on drilling rigs in the North Toole County Fields and Overseas operations as well since 1982.
He was a member of the Sunburst VFW and enjoyed playing cards and doing crossword puzzles.
