A traditional funeral service is 2 p.m. Saturday at the Old Eagle Shields Center in Browning, with burial in the Takes Gun Cemetery at Starr School. Whitted Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Gardipee of Browning; daughters Rena Gardipee Selam, Bonnie Takes Gun and Audrey Sure Chief, all of Browning, and Hanna Has Eagle of Hardin; sons Elton Gardipee and Gilbert Gardipee of Browning; sisters June Hawbecker of Wichita, Kan., Rose Malby of Lewistown and Mary Agnns of Washington; brothers Bennie Gardipee and Danny Gardipee of Billings, Bobby Gardipee of Washington and Tony Gardipee; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
