Army veteran and retired truck driver, Harold Lloyd Galitzeck, 83, of Shelby died peacefully of cancer at the Marias Care center on Saturday, August 13, 2005.  Military graveside services for family and friends are scheduled for 3:00 pm on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 in the Mountain View Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.  Whitted Funeral Chapel of Shelby is in charge of arrangements.

Harold was born August 2, 1922 in Stockett, Montana.  He drifted west at a very young age and eventually joined the Army during WW II and continued to serve during the Korean Conflict.  He settled in Seattle and worked for many years as a truck driver for Seattle Transfer and Storage.  Upon retirement, he and his wife Elsie moved to Shelby to be closer to family.

Harold was preceded in death by ‘his beautiful rose’, Elsie; six siblings, Edna, Bud, his twin Howard, Priscilla, Audrey, and Merlin; and his parents Matt & Bertha.

He is survived by his beloved son, Robert (Janis) and grandsons, Zack and Aaron, all of Easton, PA.  He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and two very special friends, Barb Harmon and Lola Hammer.

Harold’s delightfully sweet nature and love of laughter will be sorely missed by all who touched his life.
