Raymond
Douglas Fritz, age 66, an Army Veteran and retired telephone
lineman from Sunburst, passed away at his home on Sunday
(Oct. 1st. Graveside services with military
honors will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 5th) at
the Sunburst Cemetery . Whitted Funeral Chapel is in charge

Survivors include his wife of
43 years, Starlett Fritz, of
Sunburst and a brother, Jim Fritz, of British Columbia . He
is preceded in death by his parents.
Ray was born in Claresholm ,
Alberta on June 10, 1940 to Kenneth & Ann (Meltquist) Fritz
where he grew up and was educated. He came to Sunburst at
the age 18 and worked in the dismantling of the old Texaco
Refinery.
Ray and
Starlett Kelso were married on October 20, 1962 at
Sunburst. He was then drafted into the US Army in November
of 1962 and served until November of 1964. Upon Ray’s
return from the service, the couple lived in Billings for a
year where he worked in dismantling a refinery there. They
then moved to back to Sunburst where he worked as a lineman
for Northern Telephone from 1965 until 1982 when the job
ended. At that time he went to work for
Somont Oil Company in the North Toole County Oil
Fields until a severe back injury forced him to retire.
Ray was a 20 year retired
member of the Sunburst Fire Dept and a member of the
American Legion Border Post #73 at Sweet Grass. He enjoyed
hunting, fishing and working. Ray was a devoted husband
and friend and will be missed by all.
