Agnes E. (Bond) Forest, age 75, a retired bar owner from Cut Bank, died Monday, April 25, 2005 at Benefis East Hospital in Great Falls.  Her funeral will be at 11 a.m., Friday, April 29th at the First Presbyterian Church in Cut Bank with burial to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be 10 a.m. to until service time Friday at the church.  Whitted Funeral Chapel of Cut Bank is in charge of arrangements.  Condolences can be sent to the family at www.whittedfuneralchapel.com.

Survivors include her three children, Lynn (Linda) Starkey of Sandy, OR, Deborah E. (James) Knox-Starkey of Glasgow, MT and Cesileonne “Nipper” de Fae (David) Hofer of Cut Bank; a sister, Dorothy Umphres of Stockett as well as 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert J. Forest; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.  

Agnes was born July 29, 1929 in Great Falls, MT.  She grew up on the family ranch in the Stockett/Sand Coulee area and graduated from Belt High School.  She then attended nursing school in Bozeman where she met John W. Starkey.  They were married in 1947 in Bozeman.  They divorced in 1964. 

She married Albert J. Forest in 1965.  They owned several bars including the Brass Rail in Great Falls, Al’s Club in Black Eagle, the Frontier in Dunkirk and the A & A in Cut Bank where they settled in 1972.  Albert died in 1979.  Agnes retired in 1989.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Cut Bank.

She enjoyed puzzles, especially the daily jumble, painting by number, collecting knick knacks, but most of all enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
