Arne Farbo, 92, a life long farmer from Sweet Grass, passed away Sunday, August 7, at the Marias Care Center in Shelby. Visitation is Thursday from 1:00 until 8:00 pm at the Whitted Funeral Chapel. Funeral services are at 3:00 p.m. Friday at the Sunburst Lutheran Church with burial to follow in the Sweet Grass Cemetery. He is survived by his daughter, Tanya (Richard) Duarte of Shelby; sons, Wally (Connie) Farbo of Poulsbo, WA and Tom Farbo of Denali Park, AK; step-son, Jerry (Jeanette) Frank of Great Falls; eleven grandchildren and eleven step-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Farbo, his son Gary Farbo, sister Ellen Johnson, brother Laurence Farbo, and long-time companion Agnes Sommerstad.

Arne was born on the family farm at Sweet Grass September 26, 1912 to John & Margarette (Bye) Farbo, where he was raised and educated. He married Margaret Speck on July 3, 1949 at Sweet Grass. Arne lived and worked the farm his entire life.

He served on the Sweet Grass School Board until it closed, was a member of the Sunburst Lutheran Church and of the O’Hare Fishing Club. He enjoyed fishing, playing cribbage, being out doors and spending time with his family and friends.
