Emma L. Sirrine, 89, a retired LPN from Conrad, and long time Shelby resident, died Monday, April 21, 2008 at the Marias Care Center in Shelby . Memorial services will be 11:00 am Friday, May 2nd at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Shelby with inurnment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery . Whitted Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include a granddaughter, Karie Dee (Bernard) Boos of Hudson, CO; grandson, Robert (Holly) Lee of Hawaii: brother, Martin Lux of Shelby; Great-grandson, Robert (Dannielle) Ashdown of Sand Point, ID; Great-great-grandson, Samuel Ashdown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Del Sirrine; son, Robert C. Lee; sister, Bertha Curry; brothers, Chris, Otto and Emil Lux.

Emma was born June 28, 1918 at Kremlin, MT to Christian & Malawian (Karius) Lux where she was raised. She graduated from high school at Oroville, CA. She later received her LPN degree at the California School of Dental & Nursing School . During and after WWII she lived and traveled extensively in the United States and Europe .

Emma married Delbert Sirrine July 5, 1952 at Shelby . She worked as an LPN for the Marias Clinic & Medical Center for 20 years.

She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church , a charter member of the Marias Golf & Country Club where she was past president of the ladies auxiliary. She golfed until she was 80 years old. Emma also belonged to the Marias Valley Bridge and Card Club. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, oil painting, and hunting and fishing with her husband Del.
