He is survived by his wife April Carr of Shelby; sisters, Aletha (Jack) Cox of Hideaway, TX and Judy (Dick) Schilling of Waynesboro, VA; brother, Joe (Judy) Carr of Austin, TX; nieces, Amy (Richard) Green of Trophy Club, TX and Julie (Rick) King of Austin, TX and nephews, Brad (Tammy) Bennett of Port Bolivar, TX and Jason Carr of Austin, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Louise Carr. John was born October 20, 1953 to George and Louise (Clark) Carr in Mexia, TX, where he was raised and graduated from high school in 1972. He attended the University of Texas at Austin where he graduated with a B.S. in chemistry. He then attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock where he obtained his Masters Degree in biochemistry. He went on to University of Texas Dental School in San Antonio graduating in 1983. He married April Barborak on October 1, 1983 in San Antonio. John set up his first dental practice in Fairfield, Texas and then went to Dallas before opening his practice in Shelby in 1995. He was a member of the Shelby Chamber of Commerce, the Glacier Mountaineering Society, the Sixth District Dental Society, the Community United Methodist Church and an 8 year member of the Marias Medical Center Board of Directors. John had a passion for nature and the outdoors being an avid hiker, skier, hunter and fisherman. The family suggests memorials to the Community United Methodist Church, 413 2nd St. South, Shelby, Montana 59474. |
