Catherine McAlpine, 93, a homemaker and ranch wife from Sunburst, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at a Great Falls assisted living center due to natural causes. Funeral services are 2:00 pm Monday, April 2, 2007 at the Sunburst Methodist Church where visitation will be one hour before service time. Burial will follow in the Sunburst Cemetery . Whitted Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. 

Survivors include her daughters, Violet Mc Kenzie of Glassboro , NJ and Rose Thompson of Helena, and son, Alex McAlpine of Sweet Grass.  She was a devoted grandmother with 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Her husband, two sisters and four brothers precede her in death.

Catherine was born Oct. 12, 1913 at Eyemore , Alberta to Theodore & Catherine (McCloud) Koepke. In 1927 she moved with her family to a farm near Cut Bank. In 1932 she married Alex McAlpine and they farmed and ranched near Sunburst for many years. Her son Alex still lives on the ranch she so dearly loved.

She enjoyed gardening, flowers and playing cards with friends. Catherine was a member the Methodist Church and the Royal Neighbors.

The family suggests memorials to Peace Hospice.
