Ronald Duane Bricks, 75, a Title Examiner from Shelby , passed away at his home Monday, June 23, 2008 due to heart failure. Visitation will be Sunday, June 29th, from 1:00 until 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 6:00 pm at the Whitted Funeral Chapel. Funeral services are 11:00 am Monday, June 30th, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church .

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Lois Bricks of Shelby ; daughter, Karen (Dale) Hamre of Selby, SD; son, David Bricks of Littleton, CO; grandchildren, Steven, John & Eli; brothers, Richard Bricks of Highwood, Robert Bricks of Great Falls and Gene (Kathi) Bricks of Plantation, FL; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Ron was born January 7, 1933 at Great Falls to Joseph & Mabel (Quade) Bricks where he grew up and graduated from high school in 1951. That same year he joined the US Navy serving during the Korean Conflict and was discharged in June of 1955. He married Lois Giske May 12, 1956 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Great Falls .

He started in the title business in Great Falls in 1959 and then transferred to Kalispell. From 1964 to 1966 he worked back in Great Falls before moving to Sidney in 1981. Then in 1989 he moved to Lewistown and in 1993 he moved to Shelby as manager of the title company until he retired in 2004.

Ron was a great Mr. Fix-it and was always tinkering with gadgets; repairing cars and small appliances and working in the yard. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.  Ron also volunteered much of his time to the Marias Museum of History and Art.

Besides being an avid golfer, Ron also enjoyed watching old western movies, square dancing, hunting, fishing, camping and anything to do with the outdoors.  He had been an active member of both the Trinity & Peace Lutheran Churches in Great Falls in his early years. Ron was also a member of the Marias Valley Golf & Country Club, Lions Club, Kiwanis, Elks, Eagles and local community theater.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association or the donor’s choice.
