Curtis N. Bouttier Sr. 53, a ranch hand and Marine Veteran from Great Falls, passed away Monday, May 2, at a Great Falls Care Center due to natural causes.

A wake is in progress at the Old Eagles Shields Center in Browning where a rosary will be said at 7:00 pm, Friday. Funeral Mass is 2:00 pm Saturday at the Holy Family Mission Catholic Church at Two Medicine. Burial with military honors will follow in the Church Cemetery. Whitted Funeral Chapel of Cut Bank is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include daughters, Nicole Bouttier of Idaho and Gwenda Bouttier of Browning; son, Curtis N. Bouttier Jr., of Great Falls; brother, James Bouttier of Swainsboro, GA; sisters, Patricia DeBoo of Valier and Betty Brown of Great Falls and six grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

Curtis was born at Browning on June 7, 1951 to Alfred & Catherine (Tatsey) Bouttier and grew up at Birch Creek. He served with the US Marines from 1970 to 1974. He worked for several years as a ranch hand in several areas around Montana. Curtis was best known for his ability to break horses and was an avid bull rider.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family.
