Betty L. Cummings, 70, a cashier at Albertson’s Grocery in Cut Bank, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at the Northern Rockies Medical Center due to natural causes. Funeral service is 4:00 PM Saturday (today) at the 1st Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in the Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation is 1 hour before service time at the church on Saturday. Whitted Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her daughter, Julie (Dave) Devault of Glendale, AZ; sons, Douglas (Dawn) Cummings of California and Donald Cummings of Glendale, AZ.; sister, Gloria Siebrecht of Cut Bank; brothers, J.B. Schnee of Cut Bank and Harley Schnee of Sacramento, CA.; as well as seven grandchildren, Alicia & Nathan Devault, Nicholas Cummings, Margaret Cummings, Hanna Cummings, Melanie Cummings & Amanda Cummings.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Ida Belle & Shirley.
Betty was born September 7, 1939 at Kalispell to James & Marie (Van De Reit) Schnee and graduated from Taft, Oregon High School in 1957. She married Larry Cummings, they later divorced.
She moved Glendale, AZ in 1965 where she worked for Sperryaero Space Corp. until 1997 when she moved to Cut Bank and worked as a cashier at Albertson’s.
She enjoyed gardening, camping, collecting bells and singing.
