worked on a turkey farm. He and Josephine Irvin were married July 23, 1950 at

After his wife’s death in 1998, Art devoted his daytime hours to transporting
the elderly from the Marias Heritage Center to their various appointments around
town. He used his own vehicle (the white taxi as they called it) to get people
to church, hair and doctor appointments or wherever they needed to be and back
again. He was also a constant in the Marias Care Center where he would assist
the elderly with their lunches. Art had received volunteer awards from the
Marias Medical Center as well as the Marias Heritage Center. He will be greatly
missed. He was a man with a big heart who enjoyed baking apple pies for people,
dancing, playing cards and fishing.

Shelby Three Buttes VFW Post #8952.
