David Barton Anderson, 66, of Cut Bank, formerly of Shelby, died Sunday, January 22, 2006 at Benefis East in Great Falls due to natural causes.  His memorial service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, January, 25th at the Whitted Funeral Chapel in Shelby with burial of ashes with military honors to follow in Mountain View Cemetery.  Whitted Funeral Chapel of Shelby in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife Hazel Anderson of Cut Bank; step-daughter, Heather Tait of Cut Bank; step-grandchild, Aurelia Tait of Cut Bank; brothers, Edgar Anderson Jr. of Florida and James Anderson of Pennsylvania; sister, Sarah Shumate of Thomasville, N.C. as well as numerous nieces, nephew and great nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dolores Jean Wells. 

David was born June 17, 1939 to Edgar M. and Katherine M. (Hutchison) Anderson and grew up in Ligonier, Penn.  He joined the US Army in 1958 and served in Korea until his discharge in 1960.  He worked mainly in construction and security until an injury forced his retirement in 1983.  He married Hazel Banta May 12, 1985 in Florida.  They moved to Shelby in 1995 and to Cut Bank late last year. 

Memorials are suggested to the family to help defray medical expenses.
